Service Counters
Counter configuration, walk-in settings per counter, status tracking, and activation management.
Service Counters
Service counters are physical service points at a centre — pharmacy windows, lab collection desks, billing counters, or any location where patients queue for service.
Counter Configuration
Field | Purpose | Example |
|---|---|---|
Counter Name | Display name shown to staff and patients | Pharmacy Counter 1 |
Counter Code | Unique identifier per centre | PHARMA-1 |
Location Description | Where to find the counter | Ground Floor, near the exit |
Display Order | Sort order when showing multiple counters | 1 (shown first) |
Service | Which service this counter handles | Pharmacy Dispensing |
Walk-in Configuration per Counter
Each counter has its own walk-in settings:
Setting | What It Controls |
|---|---|
Enabled | Whether walk-in tokens can be issued for this counter |
Daily Limit | Maximum tokens per day (null = unlimited) |
Notification Thresholds | Queue positions at which patients are notified (e.g. at position 3 and 1) |
Counter Status Tracking
Each counter tracks its current state:
- Current Serving Token — The token number currently being served
- Last Called At — When the last token was called (for wait time estimation)
Activating and Deactivating Counters
Counters can be deactivated when not in use (e.g. during off-hours or when a counter is closed for maintenance). Deactivated counters don't accept new tokens but existing tokens in the queue continue to be served.
